Introduction
It is said that 65 percent of marriages end in divorce. Why is this? Sarah wrote and said "I was 20 when i got married and I was just not ready when it happened. Well I mean I though I was ready but I found out after a couple years later it was not the right thing to do ". 40 percent of failed marriages are from exactly what Sarah said, young couples getting married. Marriage is supposed to be the coming together of two hearts and many people have lost the meaning of commitment and the meaning of forever. Divorce is the solution to the problems that occur in a relationship instead of working things out with people today. All couples should have to do pre marital counseling because it can help communication skills, solve pre existing problems, and help find ways to deal with things to come in the future.
"Why Can't I Leave You?" Poem
The women wants to leave her man and thinks about his Laziness and drought. The women is unhappy but she knows the man will need her and she goes back into the house and unpacks. The women just wants the man to please her and its says " if i can't make you happy, come close between my thighs". I took this as, if she cannot make him happy having sex is the the one way she knows she can please him and that will have to be enough. I think the women wanted to have that feeling that she was needed and she new that's one thing he needed and that would have to satisfy herself and her husband.
"The sound" Kim Addonizio (1954)
There are so many things that are unsaid but the little sounds that we here can say many things.
Whether it be a grone or a sigh it can mean many things. You can tell if a person is happy or sad and the emotions can show through without saying anything. Body language is easy to read when you learn the signs, everyone has there own signs and the little things they do can mean more then any words ever will.
I have found this very true in everyday situations. I took my boyfriend shopping for cloths and not one sigh was missed. The look on his face was horable; I couldnt torcher him any longer so I left the store. I knew without any words everything he was thinking, and trust me it was not good.

" My Mother, If She Had Won Free Dance Lessons" Cornelins Eady (1954)
The "crazy lady" and her a son were thought to "dance one way" and the son thought about what it would be like to have had lessons and learned another dance.
\
What i thought they ment by the "dance" is jsut the way they are of there situation. Maybe they were poor and if someone would have just reached out and helped this mom and son they would not have lived the way they are and they could have learned a " new dance" and bettered there lives. If she had only one free dance lessons. If only one person was to help these people could have a better life and " dance many dances".

"Long Time To Long" Lucia Perillo (1958)
This poem is about a women getting ready to leave her husband. She has packed her bags and she is headed out the door. When she hits the door step she looks at her husband and she walks up to him and she sees he needs her "more then ever". The poem then goes into the man dropping what he was doing and he takes his wife in the bedroom and it says " a long time, too long, since we have done.... this: we're sweating enough at each other's lips".
Thinking about this poem it made me think about spending time with the poeple I love. We get so busy doing the chores and working like the womens husband was so busy working, im assuming on a farm, that he didnt make time for his wife and. Even though there is so much to be done we must take the time to just be with each other and give love to the ones that mean the most to us.

Robert Frost 1874-1963 "The foat dont taken" Pg. 550
This poem begins and it talks about a person deciding on which of the two paths to take. The person can go down a path described as being a sort of well groomed trale, where many people have traveled on it before. The other path has not been traveled and is more rugged. The person chooses to go in the trale less teraveled. Through this journey the person finds that they are liking where they are at and not sure if they will ever turn back because the path less traveled has takin them to a place they like to be.
This peom is following the saying many people refure to " travel the path less taken and make a new one". Do things that people choose not to do because in the end you will be the one benefiting whether you learn a lesson on what not to do or you find that the path has taken you to a better place. I like this one

What I have learned poetry
Through the last couple classes I have learned some valuable tips for poetry. One of which is that when poetry is read out loud it can sound different of even mean something different. A poem can have many different things hidden inside of it and when a poem is taking apart and looked at you can get a different meaning from it then before. When going through our poems in our groups in class i just looked at the basics of it and took what i got from reading it the first time. After we had taking the time to go through the whole poem and talk about each section i got sooo much more then before because i got to build off of my original thought. I have always loved reading poems because i found a long time ago that i could relate to many of them. I can always find at least one part of a poem that i can relate to or i eventually relate to in my life. I sometimes get down honestly because it tugs and my feelings and i think that is the best poetry because you can feel it and it means something.
